• DSLR staged recovery boot sequence — when digiCamControl crashes or the camera disconnects, the viewfinder now shows a friendly step-by-step progress checklist ("Opening digiCamControl..." → "Waiting for server..." → "Hiding window..." → "Opening live view..." → "Live view ready") instead of a raw OS device path. Each completed step shows a green checkmark so you always know what's happening

Improvements

• DSLR live view is smoother and snappier — the frame polling engine now uses a steady 25ms cadence with up to 2 concurrent HTTP requests, so a slow frame doesn't stall the pipeline. The effective frame rate has nearly doubled, reaching much closer to the camera's native 30fps
• DSLR camera can now wake from sleep automatically — if your camera goes to sleep, auto-powers off its LCD, or the live view freezes while the camera is still connected, the app now detects it and seamlessly wakes the camera by cycling the live view window. You'll see a brief "Camera is idle — waking live view…" notice while the last frame stays on screen, no stream teardown or full reconnect needed. After 3 failed wake attempts, the app escalates to PTP re-enumeration before falling back to a full reconnect
• Faster disconnect detection when a camera is truly unplugged — if a camera was sleeping and then gets unplugged, the app now detects the real disconnect in about 3 seconds instead of waiting for the generic 150-frame timeout
• digiCamControl main window monitored for unexpected closure — if the digiCamControl main window is closed (even if the process stays alive), the app now clears the cached camera list and re-enumerates from scratch, preventing reconnection to stale device IDs that no longer work

Fixes

• DSLR first-frame timeout no longer fires during staged recovery — the recovery sequence can take longer than 30 seconds on slow devices, which previously caused a confusing timeout error while the stepper was still showing progress. The first-frame timeout is now suppressed during active recovery and only surfaces if recovery actually stalls
• DSLR live view resume notifications no longer spam on flickering streams — cameras whose stream flickers between a cached frame and a fresh frame no longer fire repeated "resumed" notifications or flicker the waking state on and off

Fixes

• Auto-print timer no longer restarts after viewing the share screen — navigating to the share screen and back to review used to reset the auto-print countdown, meaning photos could print twice (or print unexpectedly after returning). The countdown now correctly remembers it's already been triggered, even after leaving and coming back
• Free generation count no longer lost when switching AI modes — switching from Free to Off or Paid used to reset your configured free-generation limit to the default. Going back to Free mode now restores the exact number you had set

What's New

• Turn your burst photos into an animated GIF — take a burst of photos and the app can automatically weave them into a looping animated GIF. Turn it on in the camera settings under Photo Mode. Works great for group shots where you want a fun flipbook-style keepsake. If you retake one of the burst photos, the GIF updates automatically too

Improvements

• Auto-Print mode — tired of guests forgetting to tap Print? There's now a toggle in the Output tab that sends photos to the printer automatically after every capture. You can set a short delay (default 3 seconds) so guests still have a moment to see their photo before it prints. A friendly reminder appears if you haven't set a default printer yet
• Download links are more resilient — if the Cloudflare download proxy runs into a hiccup (rate limit, temporary blip), guests are now redirected straight to Google Drive instead of seeing an error. Downloads almost always get through, even when the middleman has a bad moment

Fixes

• Fixed burst GIF showing stale frames after retaking photos — when you replaced a photo in a burst, the old animated GIF was left hanging around showing the previous set of photos. Now it's recreated with the updated frames right away
