How to Download and Install FlayrBooth on Windows & Mac

A complete walkthrough from downloading the installer to launching FlayrBooth and starting your free trial. Whether you're on Windows or macOS, this guide covers everything you need.

Step 1: Check System Requirements

Before you download, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements. FlayrBooth runs on both Windows and macOS, so check your platform below.

Windows

💡 Pro tip:

FlayrBooth works best on systems with 8 GB RAM or more, especially when running AI features (background removal and style transfer). For events with heavy photo volumes, allocate 50 GB or more of free disk space.

Step 2: Download the Installer

Visit the official FlayrBooth download page at flayrbooth.online/download. The page shows download buttons for both platforms — no sign-up or account creation required.

For Windows users

Click the Windows download button. You'll get an NSIS installer file named FlayrBooth-Setup-0.x.x.exe (~200 MB).
64-bit only: FlayrBooth does not support 32-bit Windows or ARM Windows natively.
Each release is scanned by VirusTotal (0/70+ engines clean) and has a published SHA-256 checksum for verification.

For macOS users

Click the macOS download button. You'll get a .dmg disk image file (~200 MB).
Choose the right version for your Mac: There are separate builds for Intel (x64) and Apple Silicon (arm64). The download page offers both — pick the one that matches your Mac's processor.
Gatekeeper may ask for confirmation — see Step 3 below.

Step 3: Install FlayrBooth

Windows Installation

The Windows installer uses a silent one-click setup — no options to choose. It installs to the default location automatically.

1Locate the downloaded FlayrBooth-Setup-0.x.x.exe file in your Downloads folder.
2Double-click the installer. If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning, click More info then Run anyway. This appears because FlayrBooth is a new publisher — the installer is verified safe by VirusTotal.
3The installer runs silently and installs FlayrBooth to C:\Program Files\FlayrBooth. A desktop shortcut is created automatically.
4Wait for the progress bar to complete. This usually takes 30–60 seconds. The app launches automatically once installation finishes.

macOS Installation

1Open the downloaded FlayrBooth-0.x.x-{x64,arm64}.dmg file.
2Drag the FlayrBooth app icon into the Applications folder.
3If Gatekeeper blocks the app, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the FlayrBooth message.
4Open FlayrBooth from your Applications folder or Launchpad.

🔒 Security note:

Every FlayrBooth release is scanned by 70+ antivirus engines on VirusTotal before being published. The download page shows the SHA-256 checksum so you can verify file integrity. The SmartScreen and Gatekeeper warnings are standard for new software publishers and will diminish as FlayrBooth builds reputation.

Step 4: First Launch & Trial Activation

🎁 Step 4a: Accept the Free Trial

When you launch FlayrBooth for the first time, a Start Trial overlay appears on top of the welcome screen. This is your gateway to a fully-unlocked 7-day trial.

What you'll see

A modal titled “Welcome to FlayrBooth!” with the subtitle “Start your free 7-day trial”.
A list of all included features: Photo, Video, GIF, Slow Motion, Boomerang, Green Screen, Background Removal, Print Designer, QR Code Sharing, and more.
Your device information (machine name and ID) is displayed for reference.
A checkbox confirming you understand the 7-day trial — you must check this to proceed.
A prominent “Start 7-Day Free Trial” button (greyed out until you check the terms box).

1. Read through the feature list and device info
2. Check “I understand that this is a 7-day trial”
3. Click “Start 7-Day Free Trial”

What you get:

🔑 Step 4b: Activate a License Key (if you already have one)

If you've already purchased FlayrBooth, you can activate your license at any time.

How to activate

1After the trial starts, click Activate License in the trial countdown banner at the top of the welcome screen (or open the Operator Dashboard with Ctrl+Alt+D and go to the System → License section).
2A modal titled “Activate License” appears with two fields:

License Key

Format: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX — enter the key from your purchase confirmation email.

Email Address

Enter the email address you used when purchasing.

3Click Activate. The app attempts online activation. A success screen confirms your license is active.
4If online activation fails (no internet, etc.), the app offers offline activation — follow the on-screen instructions to complete activation later. Your pending license will register automatically when the computer reconnects to the internet.

📋 Important license notes

• Licenses are tied to your computer's hardware — they survive OS reinstalls but won't work on a different machine
• One license = one machine. Contact us for multi-seat pricing
• Entering a license key does not require a restart — the app unlocks immediately

⏰ Trial countdown:

Once the trial starts, a countdown timer appears at the top of the welcome screen showing the exact time remaining (e.g., “Trial: 6d 23h 59m 59s remaining”). When the trial expires, a full-screen Trial Expired screen replaces the entire app — no captures, no gallery, no dashboard access until a license is activated. You can enter your license key directly from this screen to restore full access immediately.

Step 5: Quick Verification

Once the trial is accepted and you can see the welcome screen, run through this checklist:

✅ Welcome screen visible

The event welcome screen displays properly. You should see the event name and “Tap to Begin” button.

✅ Trial countdown banner visible

A banner at the top shows the remaining trial time. It shows “Activate License” button for when you're ready to purchase.

✅ Touch / keyboard input works

Tap the screen or press the spacebar to advance past the welcome screen to mode selection.

✅ Operator dashboard opens

Press Ctrl+Alt+D (Windows) or Cmd+Alt+D (Mac) to open the dashboard. The version number is shown in the System tab.

Step 6: What's Next?

FlayrBooth is installed, the trial is active, and you can see the welcome screen. Now it's time to set up your first event. Here's the recommended order:

Configure your event
Set the event name, pick capture modes, choose a theme, and customise the welcome screen in the operator dashboard.

Set up your camera
Connect a webcam, DSLR, GoPro via WiFi, or use your phone as a wireless camera.

Configure sharing & printing
Enable QR code sharing, Sharing Station, email/SMS, Google Drive backup, or set up printing with custom layouts.

Take a test photo
Run through the complete guest flow: choose a mode, capture, apply a filter, save, and scan the QR code to verify sharing works.

Troubleshooting

⚠️ “Windows protected your PC” (SmartScreen)

Click More info then Run anyway. FlayrBooth is a new application and Microsoft's reputation system hasn't seen enough downloads yet. The installer is verified safe by VirusTotal — you can check the scan result on the download page.

⚠️ “FlayrBooth cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified” (macOS Gatekeeper)

Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll to the “Allow apps downloaded from” section, and click Open Anyway next to the FlayrBooth entry. You only need to do this once.

⚠️ Installer says “Windows 64-bit required”

FlayrBooth only supports 64-bit (x64) Windows. To check your version, go to Settings → System → Aboutand look for “64-bit operating system.” The app does not run on 32-bit Windows or ARM Windows natively.

⚠️ I downloaded the wrong macOS version (Intel vs Apple Silicon)

To check your Mac's processor, click the Apple menu → About This Mac. If it shows “Apple M1/M2/M3” or “Apple Silicon,” download the arm64 version. If it shows an Intel processor, download the x64 version.
